Read on for the answers to these questions and many more!

Introduction to Orlando Time Shares

Before you even begin shopping, you need a good introduction to Orlando time shares. Perhaps you should start with deciding if you are even interested in a time share. A time share is, in simple terms, the purchase of a piece of property for a set amount of time each year, generally a week. It is very similar to renting a vacation house. Time shares differ in different places and with different companies. Some contracts only allow time sharers to stay for the same time period each year, while others allow purchasers to stay at different times, depending on what is available. Make sure to check with your seller on what their policies are before making any final decisions.

On the downside, time shares are often more expensive than renting motel rooms or other accomodations. In general, however, time sharing is a wonderful idea! Because the property is in your ownership for a particular period of time, you can feel free to invite friends and will have lots of privacy. Also, since the property is yours for only a certain period of time, you don't have to worry about year-round upkeep! Additionally, Orlando is only minutes from Disney World, several beaches, and tons of tourist attractions, making it the perfect vacation site for families, couples, and singles.

Once you are completely convinced that an Orlando time share is right for you, keep a few things in mind. First, time shares close to major metropolitan areas and/or tourist attractions will be more expensive, so a more rural time share might be a good option. You might want to consider purchasing a time share with friends or family. When you know the people you are sharing with, you are more likely to keep the place in good working order during your stay and will be more comfortable in knowing that it will be undamaged when you arrive. And, even though smaller time share properties will cost considerably less than larger ones, try not to force children/families into much smaller quarters than those of which they are accustomed, or conflict may arise unexpectedly. Finally, remember that you are only spending a small amount of each year at your time share property. It is not as major an investment as buying a vacation house! You probably do not want to go much over the budget you would have set for a yearly vacation using other overnight accomodations.

Remember to do your research. Magazines, the Internet, and other media sources have tons of information on just this topic. With a little effort, you can be sure to make the best decision and get the best deal possible on your wonderful new time share!
