Netflix coupons
Today I came to a conclusion about the use of Netflix coupons—they’re just an empty marketing gimmick to get you to try their service. By empty, I mean there’s no point to them whatsoever. When I first surfed Netflix’s website, I saw a textbox on the right-hand side of the site that asked for a Netflix coupon code (or something to that effect). I thought to myself, “Wow, I wonder what kind of promotions they run and how they work?” I searched the site over, but only found vague references to promotional codes. So, I did what any curious, tech-savvy, red-blooded American would do…I used Google to search for “Netflix Coupons.” In an instant, I had 232,000 websites at my disposal. To my dismay, all of them were useless.
What’s the Deal with Netflix Coupons?
After browsing the first 20 or so websites that came up after my Google search, I realized they were all sites specifically designed to fool the average surfer into thinking that they had any useful information on my search term. Many of them had dead links to the “coupons,” many others only mentioned the word “Netflix coupons” once and then had ads for whatever the site owner wanted to sell, and some had references to the free two-week trial period (which you do not need a coupon for). It was not until I got my first DVDs from Netflix that I finally saw a Netflix coupon code. When I opened the envelope, there is a section you tear away. On the inside of that section, the ad proudly proclaimed, “Tell a friend! They’ll get to try Netflix FREE for 2 weeks. Enter code: Friend60.” This means that my friend is supposed to enter a special promotional code to receive something I got just by surfing on their home page? This is ridiculous. As I said earlier, Netflix coupons seem to be an empty marketing ploy to get new customers to try out their service. You really don’t need a coupon to try out their service for free, you only need to go to their homepage and follow the directions in big letters.
Netflix coupons sounds like a great way to save money...but do they exist? Do they actually help you in any way?
I'd reccommend that you go ahead and try the so called Netflix coupon free trial (even though you don't use a coupon). After you've given them 2 weeks, you can always drop them and try the GameZnFlix trial.
